Samsung Electronics has launched the 2021 model of its modular display The Wall. The model has new AI processing technology, 120Hz frame rates, and various installation options, along with innovating and expanding display technologies allowing businesses much more flexibility when showcasing content.
“Samsung is dedicated to creating the most innovative displays for those at the forefront of video creation and brand experiences,” says Hyesung Ha, Senior Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, in the Samsung article detailing the news. “The 2021 The Wall is our most immersive and versatile display yet, giving businesses complete control to create their dream environments.”
The Wall has a new Micro AI processor that immediately analyzes and optimizes every frame of video to allow best possible picture quality. The Micro AI processor can optimize the picture quality up to 8K resolution which enhances contrast and removes noise. To do this, the processor uses 16 different neutral network models, which are each trained in AI upscaling and deep learning technology.
The model has Black Seal Technology which covers the screen with pristine uniformity, which presents a display of purer black levels with more depth and contrast which all results in high quality detail. The Wall has 1,600 nits peak brightness that helps provide clear images that stand out even in bright spaces
Installation of the new model is much easier with new wireless docking connections and a bezel-less design, which both result in a cabinet half as deep as previous models, and with modular technology, can be installed in multiple positions including ceiling, convex, hanging, concave, L-type and inclined.
With 8K resolution, The Wall 2021 offers the product’s most detailed picture ever and can be configured horizontally with up to 16K resolution with a 15,360 X 2,160-pixel arrangement and the screen is over 1,000 inches.
It also comes built with Micro HDR and Micro Motion features that include 20-bit processing that delivers consistent picture quality which is suitable across commercial environments for a high-quality viewing experience regardless of location.
The screen also has four picture-by-picture screens (PBP), which allow four different content sources, which can all be displayed simultaneously in 4K resolution. This can be particularly useful for business purposes where multi-screens are needed.
These features are all delivered with a focus on safety as TÜV Rheinland awarded its Eye Comfort Certification for minimized blue light emission, while its EMC Class B certification minimizes electromagnetic waves for safe installation in homes.
