Over the past decade, and with exponential growth over the past year throughout the pandemic, the AV technology installed in various environments has increasingly been connected to the network.

Whether it be a presentation systems, digital signage displays, telephony becoming VoIP, or any number of sensors and scanners collecting data about rooms and systems, the technology integrators have installed for years has been outfitted with the ability to be connected.

As AV technology becomes more prevalent in many industries as a function of business strategy rather than an augmentation to business strategy, it becomes necessary for integrators to build on their skillsets and what they can offer clients.

In the case of AV technology, the ownership is increasingly falling to the IT department. Which makes sense – once a piece of AV technology is connected to the network it effectively becomes a part of the stack.

For this year’s annual deep dive into networking we consider survey responses more important than ever before. While AV-over-IP is increasingly important for integrators to understand and implement, other networking standards such as Category ethernet cabling are increasingly falling under the integrator’s purview.

For this year’s survey what we seek to understand is whether integrators are seeing the repercussions of increased connectivity, and whether they are prepared. By taking this five-minute survey you will help us better inform our audience in regards to how many projects involve networking, what type of networking is involved, the general experience and education around networking, and more.

The results of the survey along with a comprehensive article delving into the context of these findings will be released in our October issue of Commercial Integrator magazine as well as online at the CI website.

So please take five minutes to take our survey and help us better understand the state of networking technology in the integration industry.
