In the beginning of April, Commercial Integrator reported on the announcement of the tariffs placed by the current U.S. administration and their subsequent impact on integrators, vendors and customers in the AV industry. Since then, several AV manufacturers have begun rolling out updated statements on pricing and shipping as regards the tariffs.

AV Manufacturers’ Statements on Tariffs

Crestron Announces 5% Tariff Surcharge Effective May 1, 2025

Starting on May 1, a 5% tariff surcharge will be applied to all invoices issued by Crestron Electronics, Inc., based in the United States.

The surcharge will specifically apply to the total gross amount of hardware items listed on invoices, prior to any discounts, sales tax or shipping charges. The new charge will not affect services or software subscription costs, Crestron said in a statement.

Schneider Electric Announces Price Increases, Effective May 1, 2025

In an email statement, Schneider Electric IT Corporation will implement the following price increases:

  • Back-Ups (All SKUs): 8%
  • Smart Ups (All SKUs): 8-10%
  • Rack Systems (All SKUs): 13%
  • 3Phase UPS (All SKUs): 10%
  • Inrow Cooling (All SKUs): 10%
  • Services (Hardware Components Only): 2-10%

The company also noted that other Schneider Electric businesses will also be implementing an increase.

In the statement, Schneider Electric further added that due to the materiality of the tariff impact on its business, it is necessary to implement a price increase for all segments of the U.S. market. In the event of substantial changes in tariff impacts up or down, the company will evaluate follow-up price actions if necessary.


Symetrix Addresses Tariffs Concerns

In an email statement, Symetrix announced that the company will not pass on any price increases, tariffs, duties or other costs through the end of May 2025.

The company, in the email, also reinforced its commitment to its partners during these uncertain times. This includes providing proactive communication, supply-chain diversification, strategic partnerships, operational efficiency and long-term perspective.


URC Delivers Message on Tariffs to Customers

In an email statement to partners and customers, URC CEO and founder, Chang K. Park, announced that the company will not raise any prices and will absorb the current tariffs.

Park, in the email, recalled that the company has historically raised prices only once in 12 years — during the shortage of raw materials following the COVID pandemic. When material costs increased exponentially, URC was forced to increase the price by 10%.

In the statement, Park added that URC remains committed to providing durable and reliable products to its dealers at current rates, regardless of the tariff outcomes.


Stewart Filmscreen on Tariffs and Prices

Stewart Filmscreen, in an email statement, announced that all of its products are manufactured in the United States and therefore exempt from the new tariffs.

Per the company, this means that clients will experience no changes to the current pricing structure, product availability or standard lead times as a consequence of the tariffs policy announced on April 2, 2025.


Nemal Electronics Provides Update on Tariffs

Nemal Electronics issued an email statement, noting that as a U.S.-based manufacturer with global supply chain partners; the company is not immune to the effects of the trade changes.

In the statement, Nemal Electronics announced that starting May 1, 2025, the company anticipates implementing incremental cost adjustments related to new tariffs. The manufacturer further stated that most of its current assemblies and components include manufacturing materials not yet subject to the tariffs.
