InfoComm 2016 Must See: Maevex 6100 Series from Matrox

Published: June 3, 2016

Matrox will showcase its Maevex 6100 Series and its Mura IPX 4K IP decode and display card at booth #N2047 at this year’s InfoComm show.

Samuel Recine, director of sales, Americas and Asia Pacific, for Matrox took the time to talk to CI about what the company has planned for integrators visiting its booth at InfoComm 2016, June 8-10 in Las Vegas.

If we learn about only one product innovation in your InfoComm 2014 booth, what should it be?

Matrox Maevex 6100 Series is a new line of world-class encoders and decoders designed for capture and real-time encoding, streaming, transcoding, and recording. The Maevex 6100 range of PCIe cards, stand-alone appliances, and developer tools provides multi-channel, Full HD, 4K, and 8K streaming.

From small and easy-to-use appliances all the way to packing up to 64 channels of 4K capture, real-time encoding and streaming into a single 5U rack enclosure, Maevex 6100 Series covers all your form-factor requirements.

Unlike proprietary-over-IP products which lock you into single-vendor, Maevex 6100 Series is designed for maximum interoperability with third-party hardware and software. Maevex 6100 can also be used as a direct substitute for many high-bitrate, low-latency quality 4:4:4 extension and switching products or vendor-proprietary IP-based products but in much less bandwidth.

Extend and switch AV or send ultra-low-bitrate streams to thousands of users on LAN, WAN, and cloud with Maevex 6100 and its extensive compatibility with standard IP equipment.

Ok….What if we have time to see one more thing?

The Matrox Mura IPX 4K IP decode and display card. The latest addition to the Mura IPX Series family line, the new card offers H.264 decoding of one 8K, up to two 4Kp60, four 4Kp30, eight 1080p60, sixteen 1080p30, or many more SD streams.

Additionally, four DisplayPort outputs makes it a cost-effective, easy-to-integrate multiviewer for control rooms and AV presentation systems in security, corporate, defense, aerospace, utilities, government, medical and education environments.

The Mura IPX decode and display board is a PCIe x8 Gen2 card featuring four DisplayPort outputs that delivers high-density H.264 decoding up to level 5.2 of YUV4:2:0, 4:2:2, 4:4:4, RGB888 and RGB101010 streams.

AV integrators are provided all of the basic controls to deploy video walls with MuraControl video wall management software for Windows® and iPad®, and the Matrox Network API enables ISVs to expose new capabilities within their own software.

What’s one last impression you’d like us to take away from your InfoComm 2014 booth?

Video walls and the delivery of AV over IP are the hottest trends in AV. The skill sets of IT people and AV people are creating winning combination to serve customers who want the best of both worlds.

Matrox will be demonstrating how AV can be delivered over standard IT infrastructure (CATx cabling and standard IP switches) and meet AV requirements such as 4K and 8K resolution, low bitrates, low latency, perfect visual acuity, and ease of use with our flagship real-time encoding technology: Maevex 6100 Series.

Some of the nodes in our demonstrations include video walls, some of which are being completely streamed and recorded.
