Marletta, Ga.-based DVIGear manufacturers a vast line of signal management and connectivity solutions for the professional A/V market.
The Skinny: Adding to its wide array of connectivity, management and transmission products, the company has announced its new DVI-7520 and DVI-7525 HDBaseT extenders.
The Specs: DVIGear explains the extenders are engineered to provide dealers with a choice of cost-effective solutions to transmit HDMI, DVI, embedded audio, bi-directional RS-232, IR and Ethernet (DVI-7525 only) over a single run of category cable with the convenience of Power over HDBaseT (POH).
“We felt that a fully compliant implementation of POH was the only solution to the growing problems caused by non-standard power in many HDBaseT products today,” says Steven Barlow, president of DVIGear. “The architects of the HDBaseT standard wisely included this feature from the beginning and yet very few companies have included this crucial functionality in their product designs. We think this will change in the future.”

DVIGear points out that POH utilizes standardized 48-volt DC power, as well as an advanced handshake feature that prevents power exchange with non-compatible products. The problem with products that don’t comply with the standards according to the Georgia company is that it results in interoperability issues, including equipment failures.
The DVI-7520 is capable of transmitting 4K/30p up to 130 feet, and 1080p up to 230 feet, whereas the DVI-7525 can transmit 4K/30p up to 230 feet, and 1080p up to 330 feet.
Solutions: DVIGear adds that the DVI-7520 and DVI-7525 can be used for everything from rental and stage events, to conference and training rooms, boardrooms, auditoriums, hotels, churches and other commercial environments.
