Cavlo Trade Show Pushes Back Las Vegas Debut to February 2021

Published: July 10, 2020

As the COVID-19 positivity rate climbs in the southwest USA, cavlo – a trade show focused on professional audio/video/lighting equipment used in entertainment and communication applications – has announced new dates for its debut event at the Ahern Hotel in Las Vegas.

Cavlo – a trade show focused on professional audio/video equipment used in entertainment and communication applications – was scheduled debut at the Ahern Hotel on Sept. 14 and 15 but will instead be moved to Feb. 9-10.

Proper safety protocols – as determined by the CDC, the State of Nevada and the southern Nevada Health District — will be observed, according to Mike Brown-Cestero, managing director of the cavlo trade show, in the announcement.

“We’re committed to a safe, professional working environment that will help instill confidence in conventioneers and bring them back to Vegas again” he said in the announcement.

Why Cavlo is Moving to February

The decision by cavlo organizers to delay the event’s debut is the latest in a long list of changes to the schedule of AV, IT and security events as a result of the coronavirus outbreak across the U.S. and around the world.

The Digital Signage Expo is scheduled for Sept. 15-18 in Las Vegas after being postponed from its original late March date. Most other in-person AV industry events that were scheduled to be in Las Vegas, including InfoComm 2020, were either canceled or postponed.

AVIXA launched a virtual version of InfoComm that was held the same week in June when the in-person event would have been. ISC West is among the other Las Vegas staples that will be online this year.

If they are still recommended at the time, masks will be mandatory for all attendees at cavlo when it debuts in February, and the cavlo organizers have already secured thermal cameras and tablets for temperature checks.

“We’re committed to a safe, professional working environment that will help instill confidence in conventioneers and bring them back to Vegas again,” said Brown-Cestero in the announcement.
