Biamp Announces Tesira 2.1, Partners with Lab.gruppen

Published: June 18, 2014

The Tesira platform leverages audio video bridging (AVB) to provide a cohesive, networked media system that integrates diverse products for multiple applications. With Tesira 2.1, enterprises can take audio processing from large to super-scaled and provide functionality such as AVB, CobraNet®, and Dante™ within a single Tesira chassis.

Also in Tesira 2.1, Biamp has added multi-channel compression abilities to its comp/limiter processing and the option to use compressors in either advanced or simplified mode at system setup. A new independent limiter block provides more precise decision-making when choosing blocks needed for the installation.

Biamp’s Tesira 2.0 features the new EX-AEC expander and EEC-4 Modular Card.

From Biamp’s press release on Lab.gruppen D Series amps:

Biamp Systems announced its Tesira® digital signal processing (DSP) technology is an integral component in dedicated variants of Lab.gruppen’s new D Series, an install-dedicated, four-channel DSP amplifier platform. Evolved from Lab.gruppen’s TEC Award-winning PLM 20000Q Powered Loudspeaker Management™ touring amplifier, the new D Series Tesira variants leverage Tesira’s advanced technology, including audio video bridging (AVB) audio and control, to offer unmatched amplifier and DSP platform integration.

As the enabling DSP technology behind these dedicated variants of D Series, Tesira leverages AVB, an IEEE open standard, to provide the most flexible, scalable, and affordable networking capabilities on the market. The D Series combines with Lab.gruppen’s advanced power supply technologies and its proven Class TD platform to provide the world’s most capable installation amplifier, engineered specifically for high-performance installations and the application-specific demands of large-scale performance venues. Available in three power configurations (8000 W, 12000 W, and 20000 W), D Series heralds the introduction of Rational Power Management™ (RPM) technology, providing true flexibility in allocation of total available power without loss of channel count, to ensure the most efficient use of overall amplifier inventory.

“The D Series Tesira variants are the highly impressive result of our unique collaboration with Lab.gruppen, bringing the best DSP platform together with the best amplifier range to provide an industry-leading integrated solution,” said Graeme Harrison, Executive Vice President of Marketing, Biamp Systems. “It is a true example of our commitment to develop solutions that can meet the needs of an evolving industry.”
