AVIXA Women’s and Diversity Council Set for Boston-Area Holiday Gathering Thursday

Boston area AV/IT managers and directors, architects, business owners, manufacturers, consultants and integrators will gather Thursday night for the Boston area holiday gathering of the AVIXA Women’s Council and Diversity Council from 5:30 to 7:45 p.m. [related]

Join workplace environment and technology stakeholders, along with members of the AVIXA Women’s and Diversity Councils for an evening of peer networking and information sharing.

The event will be hosted by Red Thread (101 Seaport Blvd, Suite 600, Boston, MA 02210) and the evening will conclude with a tour of their tech-focused and future-driven headquarters in the Seaport district of Boston.

5:30 – 6:00 p.m. Networking and Welcome

Charmaine Torruella, GMS account manager at Verrex, Chairperson of AVIXA Diversity Council;

Gina Sansivero, VP of marketing and corporate communications at AtlasIED, regional group leader of AVIXA Women’s Council; Amy Holt, VP of marketing and strategy, Red Thread

6:15 – 6:40 p.m.  A Diverse Team

AVIXA contributing writer Cindy Davis moderates a panel with Red Thread AV and marketing team members. Each panelist will share their own unique path, experiences and journey in the AV business.

6:40 – 7:00 p.m. Teaching a New Generation of AV Pros

Chris Hope, AV technology programs site partner for Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology, SXSW advisory board member, and executive director of The Loop Lab.

Hope shares inspiring stories from The Loop Lab, a Cambridge-based non-profit social enterprise specializing in media arts internships and digital storytelling.

Its mission is to empower underrepresented groups in the media arts, like women and people of color, to develop careers in audio/video through job training and job placement.

7:00 – 7:45 p.m. Networking and Tour

Tour Red Thread’s innovative WorkLife showroom for inspiration. The Red Thread team will be on-hand to answer your questions.
