AudioControl introduced the Director Model M4800D multizone amplifier, which incorporates Dante network connectivity, in addition to providing integrators with a new product solution within its 8-channel amplifiers.

“Dante technology built into AudioControl’s best-in-class high-power amplifier lineup enables integrators to deliver the clarity of uncompressed audio over a standard IP network using readily available CAT5e, CAT6 or fiber optic cable with near-zero latency,” explains Steve Haas, director of product development at AudioControl. “Factor in the matrix switching and DSP features of the Director Model M4800D, all engineered into a compact 1U chassis, and this amplifier represents the ultimate multi-zone solution for AV professionals.”

M4800D’s Dante Inclusion Provides a Reliable Means to Distribute Digital Audio Content

Dante is an uncompressed, multichannel digital media networking technology that moves data over a standard IP network using readily available CAT5e, CAT6 or fiber optic cable with near-zero latency explains AudioControl. The technology enables integrators to deliver best quality audio to every zone without being tethered to costly analog cables that are susceptible to signal degradation, especially over longer runs. The AudioControl Director M4800D amplifier is the ultimate multizone amplifier for any application including audio over IP in commercial or residential installation environments, says AudioControl.

The AudioControl Director Model M4800D combines 100 watts into 8 Ohms or 200 watts into 4 Ohms of output into an 8×4 stereo matrix from just about any loudspeaker, as well as onboard digital signal processing (DSP) including graphic and parametric equalization by zone. The M4800D allows for the ability to bridge channels, giving integrators configuration flexibility for any imaginable system design.

AudioControl boasts the amplifier’s DSP engine also offers an ever-expanding library of onboard custom digital profiles tailored for popular architectural loudspeakers, enabling integrators to fine-tune each zone. The M4800D also features full matrix audio capability from any of the eight analog/digital inputs to any output across single or multiple amplifier channels. The M4800D can operate either as a standalone matrix-amplifier or as part of a third-party smart home ecosystem.

The Wash.-based brand owned by AVPro Edge adds that with music enthusiasts demanding a superior whole-house entertainment experience, the Director Model M4800D continues AudioControl’s legacy of audio performance while utilizing minimal rack space. The M4800D is backed by a five-year warranty and is available exclusively through authorized AudioControl dealers.
