At the E4 Experience in NY Metro, LinkLab officially launched its rebrand, bringing forward a clear and intentional approach to service offerings for commercial AV integrators.

In an exclusive conversation with Commercial Integrator at the E4 Experience in NY, Cory Allen, VP of LinkLab Services, provided insights into the features and benefits of LinkLab services.

LinkLab’s Purpose-Driven Rebrand

At its core, LinkLab focuses on forging strong customer connections while delivering tailored solutions. According to Allen, the “Link” highlights the relationship with customers, emphasizing partnership, not competition, while the “Lab” reflects the forward-thinking experimentation of the teams to solve unique challenges in installation projects. With this in mind, the LinkLab services thus include Engineering & Drafting, Design & 3D Modeling, Programming & Commissioning, Labor Support and the new Autora Digital Signage Management Platform.

Here, the LinkLab suite of services will provide supplemental/augmentable options for integrators and a way for them to expand their business while remaining agile.

Benefits of LinkLab

According to Exertis Almo, the main benefits of LinkLab include:

  • Scalability: Adapt to project demands without overextending internal teams.
  • Flexibility: Tailor services to specific needs and challenges.
  • Cost-Efficiency: Reduce expenses related to training, staffing, and travel.
  • Time Savings: Focus on core business priorities while Exertis Almo handles the details.
  • Technological Edge: Stay ahead with the latest tools and systems expertise.
  • Expertise On Demand: Access specialized knowledge without maintaining in-house resources.

Customization at the Forefront

Delving deeper into the benefits, Allen attests that every commercial AV project requires specific solutions, and LinkLab aims to meet this demand through extensive customization. “It’s a forward-thinking experimental aspect where we tinker with ideas and methodologies to address [client] challenges,” he shares. While LinkLab offers prebuilt box systems as a foundation, Allen notes that 75 to 80% of projects are modified to align with individual customer requirements. This strategy reduces costs, accelerates timelines and ensures precise results for integrators.

To enhance project efficiency, LinkLab has also adopted advanced tools like 3D renderings, drawing packages and VR goggles to visualize spaces. The company also integrates lidar technology, allowing remote room mapping via mobile apps. “Operationally, it is less expensive, quick and gives us the information we need,” Allen remarks, describing how these innovations transform the design process, especially when clients cannot be physically present at locations.

Moreover, through the LinkLab service offerings, all renderings and equipment are validated and peer-reviewed by the teams. “[Integrators] can confidently go in, install and commission the [project] and never have to think twice about it,” emphasizes Allen.

Expanding Service Offerings

Beyond audiovisual design, LinkLab is also focusing on providing education to integrators and partners. The company plans to launch advanced training programs to empower integrators with knowledge and tools. “We should feel responsible for educating as we have the tools necessary and we owe it to our customers,” says Allen, underscoring the importance of equipping partners with the necessary skills, given the evolving nature of AV technologies and their applications.

LinkLab for Integrators

Exertis Almo then reiterated its commitment to supporting integrators and their businesses. As Allen noted in a press release, “Integrators can think of LinkLab as their backstage crew, making the magic happen while they take center stage. This relaunch marks the start of an exciting new chapter. We are evolving and adapting to the changing needs of the market as we continue providing the best possible services and expertise.”
