Interview with Korene Korologos, Content Marketing Strategist, Listen Technologies

Commercial Integrator: How did you get into the AV industry?

Korene Korologos: I applied for a marketing position without knowing much about the AV space — it was accidental! But since then, I’ve enjoyed working in this industry and have learned so much along the way.

CI: Have you encountered any difficulties or obstacles in your AV industry career?

Korologos: Thankfully, I haven’t encountered any difficulties in my AV industry career. I know that AV is traditionally a male-dominated field, but at Listen Technologies, I have the opportunity to work alongside many talented women. I especially love seeing women in leadership positions, which is still uncommon in this industry, and it’s inspiring to be part of a company that values diversity and inclusion.

CI: Whom would you point to as the most influential and helpful mentors in your career? What did they do to help you?

Korologos: I’m lucky to have worked with two women in leadership positions within the marketing department and our CEO Maile Keone. Seeing them break barriers in our industry and lead with grace has been incredibly inspiring. Their leadership, guidance, and example have been so helpful in my career, and it’s been really neat to be a part of a company that values strong, talented women in leadership roles.

CI: What is your proudest career accomplishment?

Korologos: My proudest career accomplishment has been finding what I’m good at and building confidence around that skill. It’s been incredibly rewarding to grow in my expertise, take on new challenges and see the impact of my work.

CI: What do you love most about working in the AV industry?

Korologos: What I love most about working in the AV industry is the powerful impact our work at Listen Technologies has on people’s lives. Providing solutions so that individuals can hear is truly meaningful, and it’s incredible to be part of a company that helps break down communication barriers and create more inclusive experiences for everyone.

CI: How can the AV industry become even better?

Korologos: By continuing to break down barriers — whether increasing diversity in leadership, creating more inclusive environments or advancing technology that makes communication more accessible for everyone. At Listen, I see firsthand how assistive listening solutions can change lives and I believe the industry has the opportunity to keep innovating and making a real difference.
