Published: October 19, 2017

The NSCA IGNITE program, aimed at educating students about the AV integration industry and fostering recruitment possibilities, has launched a new phase in the mission: its IGNITE Career Center. [related]

First unveiled at last year’s Business and Leadership Conference, the IGNITE Career Center offers a new job board and web-based platform dedicated to detailing how to move into the industry.

The job board allows Gold and Platinum NSCA members to post job openings without limit. According to a press release, the IGNITE Career Center also offers:

  • Career resources, including ESPA certification, scholarships, and on-the-job learning
  • Connecting high school and college students with integrators and manufacturers
  • Resources available to help employers communicate the benefits and opportunities available in our industry to students and young professionals

“Integrators now have all the tools necessary to approach school administrators and interested students at all levels,” says Chuck Wilson, NSCA executive director.

“Whether integrators need access to tools that help gauge proficiency before they hire, a place to post current positions to attract the most qualified candidates possible, or materials to speak at a job fair about industry opportunities, all of these things are available in the IGNITE Career Center.”

The NSCA IGNITE program also arms integration firms and consultants with marketing and promotional materials to use at job fairs and share with students.

More from the NSCA IGNITE program press release:

“Employee retention is a significant challenge – 68% of HR professionals are experiencing difficulty recruiting candidates for full-time positions across all fields – not just our industry. Vying for talent is only going to get harder as more Baby Boomers retire.

The challenge we have now is hiring, mentoring, and training young professionals – who share our passion and drive – to run the companies that many of us have put so much heart into creating. This drove the idea behind IGNITE – helping passionate, creative business owners find new, young talent that is excited to join our industry,” says Kelly Perkins, marketing communications manager at AVI Systems.
