This Thanksgiving, the Commercial Integrator team would like to extend our gratitude to an industry community that has given back in so many ways. As we pencil down the things that we are grateful for, we also take this opportunity to thank our dear readers for being loyal subscribers, contributors and supporters. We promise to continue sharing expert perspectives on how to run your integration business better!

Read our team’s own personal notes of gratitude below.

Dan Ferrisi, Group Editor, Commercial & Security

This Thanksgiving, I am immensely grateful for the #avtweeps community, whose members are truly caring and supportive. In today’s world, everyone experiences Imposter Syndrome now and then. But I’ve seen firsthand that #avtweeps seek to lift each other up, not tear each other down. That’s a rarity in this world, and it’s something precious and beautiful. I’m also thankful for Alyssa Borelli and Amala Reddie, whose excellence makes me look good every day. Commercial Integrator, as an editorial property, is truly a group effort, and Alyssa and Amala deserve as much credit as anyone for our continuing success.

Finally, I am grateful to Emerald for entrusting me to lead not only Commercial Integrator but also Security Sales & IntegrationI don’t take this level of responsibility lightly. And I remain hugely excited to help integration businesses, whether they specialize in AV or physical security, be more profitable and successful in 2024. Happy Thanksgiving!

Alyssa Borelli, Web Editor, Commercial Integrator and My TechDecisions

This Thanksgiving, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for readers like you! Your valuable insights, curiosity and passion for everything AV/IT/Security/IoT continue to inspire us daily. I am truly thankful for the integration business founders, owners, presidents, VPs and executives who graciously shared their business success stories with us this year, providing valuable lessons and insights for others. It has been such a pleasure to share stories about family business succession and life after business ownership. I am also grateful for our amazing PR friends and for exciting industry gatherings, like the inaugural Commercial Integrator Expo in Denver, that I attended. Running a website like this is truly a team effort, and I am grateful for the support of my fantastic colleagues at Emerald, including Amala, Dan and the dedicated teams in marketing, creative and digital services. That’s not to mention the talented staff on our sister-sites, CE Pro, Security, Sales & Integration and Campus Safety, whom we collaborate with behind the scenes to deliver the best content for readers like you!

Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving filled with the love of family and friends, delicious food and grateful reflections on how lucky we are to be in such an amazing industry!

Amala Reddie, Associate Editor, Commercial Integrator

Since I arrived in the U.S., Thanksgiving has become a two-fold celebration, as my birthday also happens to fall within the same week. Not only do I get to commemorate my own trips around the sun, but I also get the opportunity to express my gratitude to everyone within my personal and professional spheres.

This Thanksgiving, I am thankful to the AV community for allowing me to share your stories, as well as all your journeys and achievements. It has been inspiring to trace the lineage of such revered #avtweeps, and I am thankful that I get to be a part of your stories. I am also extremely grateful to my colleagues at Emerald, including the sales and marketing teams, as well as the design team, without whom we would not be able to publish successful editions of Commercial Integrator. I would also like to give a huge shoutout to Dan and Alyssa for being the most supportive coworkers and for bringing the spark of camaraderie in every meeting, making us feel closer even as we work in different locations. Finally, I wish you all the happiest of holidays, filled with joy, love and bellies full of food!
