Accell DisplayPort Hub Compliant with Microsoft Designed for Surface (DFS) Program

Smart devices are one of the hottest markets in the world of electronics, and one of the top companies that competes in the smart device category is Microsoft.

The Skinny: Participating in Microsoft’s Designed for Surface program, Accell has announced its UltraAV DisplayPort 1.2 MST Hub

The Specs: The UltraAV DisplayPort 1.2 MST Hub is a Designed for Surface licensed product that features multi-stream transport (MST) mode capabilities to enable independent monitor control and compatibility with high-resolution graphics.

The Freemont, Calif.-based cable manufacturer points out the product is designed to work with Microsoft’s Surface Pro 2 and Surface Pro 3.

“Microsoft’s Surface customers are looking for ways to easily expand their desktop. Accell has addressed this need with the release of a high-resolution Mini DisplayPort 1.2 MST Hub,” notes Michael Weizer, director of product and marketing, Accell. “We are excited to have our MST Hub join the Designed for Surface program.”

Accell adds that the product is compatible with non-DisplayPort outputs, including VGA, DVI or MST Hubs are DP++ and are capable of converting DisplayPort signals to other display interface signals using passive or active adapters. The product supports resolutions up to 3,840 x 2,160 at 30Hz in MST mode, and users can view single images across two displays or dedicate monitors for specific applications.

Solutions: The UltraAV DisplayPort 1.2 Hub can be used in just about any office environment to support a variety of multimedia activities.
