Great tips, and I couldn’t agree more. College students and recent grads don’t seem to understand how their profile pictures can affect their professional image. I see job-seeking women with photos of themselves in sundresses that, in the thumbnail view of social media images, look like lingerie. Who would hire them?

Another pet peeve: logos or pictures of product as profile pictures for individuals. I see this frequently and find it unnerving. I understand the desire for privacy, but depersonalization to that level is overkill.
